About Laurel Lock

Once occupied by a New England boarding house known as Schultz Farm, and later dubbed Schultz’s Grove serving as a dairy farm and picnic area, the property we currently operate as Laurel Lock Campground of Oakdale, CT has been in our family since 1921. Named for the abundance of laurel and hemlock trees found on the property, the Southeastern Connecticut (CT) campground opened in August of 1967, with just 8 wooded sites. The goal was to retain the natural beauty of the hilly, lakeside property, and to share it with others. Now as the 4th and 5th generations of the family maintain the overall operations of the 130-site campground, we hope to continue the tradition of providing a happy and healthy environment for our guests. Laurel Lock occupies over 1,000 feet of lakeshore on picturesque Gardner Lake in Oakdale, CT. We welcome trailers, RV’s and tents on our naturally wooded and open sites. Our seasonal sites include water, sewer, cable, and electric hook-ups and our provisional sites offer water, cable, and electric with an on-site dumping station for waste disposal needs. Laurel Lock also provides flush toilets and showers throughout the campground for added convenience. Near the shore, we provide two swimming and beach areas, separated for adults only and for families alike. A boat launch and docks are also available for boaters and water sports enthusiasts. If you run short on supplies, our camp store stocks camping staples such as ice, firewood, propane gas and various groceries. Candy, ice cream, soda and other concession-stand treats are offered as well. Our office is staffed in-season during the week from 11am to 6pm.
